Abergavenny is the perfect base for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Blaenavon World Heritage Site. It’s surrounded by seven mountains – a bit like Rome. Swanage is the most easterly town on the Jurassic Coast, and its gently shelving sandy beach and sheltered waters have made it a popular destination for families since Victorian times. Up to the early 19th Century, Swanage was a small fishing port. However the arrival of the railway meant it developed as a seaside resort and it retains much of its Victorian character to this day.

Surround yourself in the history and tradition that this area is steeped with. There’s a Lighthouse built in 1794, and a Victorian Pier. Oystermouth Castle is also well worth a visit, sitting on a hilltop with fabulous views overlooking the sea. “Mumbles Land Train” can be seen chugging its way along the sea front, transporting people to and from Swansea.

Lynton and Lynmouth are situated within the Exmoor National Park, surrounded by magnificent scenery, often known as ‘Little Switzerland’, the area is a walker’s paradise. The pretty village of Lynmouth sits at sea level, following the River Lyn down to the sea, whilst Lynton sits higher, full of quaint narrow lanes and independent shops to explore. Take a trip on the famous Lynton and Lynmouth funicular Cliff Railway opened in 1890, believed to be the highest and the steepest totally water powered railway in the world connecting the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth and providing stunning coastal views.

Poole’s harbour is a haven for sailors, wildlife and watersports and is a gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Poole is also home of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and their training college with hotel and restaurant is located right on the harbours edge.
Explore the treasures of Poole’s historic quayside, delve deep into the heart of the old town where sea captains and pirates once stood and immerse yourself in Poole’s fascinating history. Poole Museum, the Cockle Trail guided walk, treasure hunt and Poole Trail interpretation panels will help unravel Poole’s past for explorers young and old!

Jamaica Inn was built int 1750 as a coaching inn- The 18^th Century equivalent of the modern day service station for weary travellers. Using the turnpike between Launceston and Bodmin, they would stay at the in after crossing the wild and treacherous moor. The Jamacia Inn is also well known as the setting for Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name from 1936.

Then on to Padstow town which is centrerd around the working harbour where boats come and go with the days catches and there’s always a crab line or two to take an interest in. From gift shops pastry parlours, there plenty to recommend, including the national lobster Hatchery where marine life conversations can be seen in action.

The world famous British Firework Championships is set to return to Plymouth for its 20th showdown. It is an annual competition held in Plymouth that gives an amazing show and is definitely worth seeing.

Fireworks start around 9-9.30pm

There are 3 displays, each lasting around 10 minutes.

The coach departs Plymouth for the return approximately 10.30 – 10.45pm, once the fireworks have finished we ask passengers to make their way back to the coach.
